I decided to do the Movie Quote Trivia again since there seems to be lots of searches for it, plus, hopefully I will get some comments with links to other people’s movie quotes for me to guess…my favorite part :)!  Anyway, here’s the rules (for anyone who wants to join in and do their own) and the quotes…

Here are the rules:

1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess (if you know them all, please don’t guess every one).
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. No Googling or IMDb-ing. That’s cheating and that’s no fun.

Here are my quotes:

1. Did you ever Flashy Thing me Guessed by Katie, Men in Black

2. Predictions?

Yes, predictions.

3. Ere, he says he’s not dead.
Yes he is.
I’m not.
He isn’t.
Well, he will be soon, he’s very ill.
I’m getting better.

4. Yeah, but you know what? This one, this one right here. This was my dream, my wish. And it didn’t come true. So I’m taking it back. I’m taking them all back.

5.  Come ‘on, Honey. We can’t close our eyes to the plight of the city. Kids, you noticing all this plight? (Gunshot, followed by screams.) Roll ’em up.

6.I know what you’re thinking. “Did he fire six shots or only five?” Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

7. Hey, Wade , I got a mother, you got a mother, the sarge has got a mother. I’m willing to bet that even the Captain’s got a mother. Well, maybe not the Captain, but the rest of us have got mothers.

8. Snakes!  Why’d it have to be snakes!  Guessed by Katie, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

9. Let’s do it for Johnny man!  We’ll do it for Johnny!

10. Dad!  He’s speaking English!

My brother, who sells stuff on ebay as a side business, came to Sunday dinner at Mom’s yesteday with boxes and boxes of dvds he’d gotten at an auction to re-sell on ebay.  He has so many he let us all rummage through and keep the one’s we wanted.  Going through all the titles  reminded me of something I’d been wanting to do since I saw a clip on Oscar night of all the movies that have won best picture through the years.  I thought I caught a glimpse of quite a few that I had seen so I wanted to kind of check them off on a list.  Now that I see it in black and white I’ve actually seen less than I thought, although some of these I might have seen and its just not connecting…I might have to read a synopsis or see  whose in them to jog my memory.  Anyway, I’ve bolded the one’s on the list that I’ve seen…28 so far.  Question of the Day: Anyone else seen more than that?

The Mission:
Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:
Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days?
Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as New Year’s resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

I stumbled across this idea today.  I love making lists anyway so this is right up my alley!  Here’s the Home of 101 Things in 1001 Days  .  I’m working on my list in my head already so if the next few days are not too busy at work you can expect to see a list from me soon.

Ok, Abbey’s birthday party is fast approaching and I still  haven’t settled on a cake to make…that is, if I make a cake at all.  I can tell you this, Bob the Builder and Bulldozer cakes are quite popular searches.  I can’t tell you how many people have found my blog by searching those terms.  By the way, there’s a link in my favorite links section for Creative cakes that I believe takes you right to the Bob the Builder cakes.  If not they are easy to find in a search.  I think I’ve abandoned the idea of a Bob cake though.  Abbey still loves to point out “BOB!” everytime we pass a construction vehicle but, I think I’m going to go with a slighly less boyish theme.  I’m leaning towards a Curious George cake.  There are some amazing ones on that Creative cakes site…or I still might do the Raggedy Ann cake I had stumbled upon before I even had Abbey.  Since I love Raggedy Ann and Abbey is not so impressed this may be my last chance to pick the theme of the cake while she doesn’t seem to car LoL.  Ah well, I’ll figure it out.

So, today’s Question of the day:

What was your child(ren)’s last birthday cake/theme?

…after a long day of shopping at the outlets, you are midway through the almost two hour drive home when you hear from the back seat, “I try to get it out!” and look back to see your two year old with her finger in her nose.  Luckily, I am not driving, my Mom is, so I scoot to the back seat to see if I can do anything about this situation in the pitch dark backseat.  I’m not too successful.  I am able to access that what has managed to make its way into Abbey’s nostril is a piece of foam that she has pulled out of a hole in the fabric cover of her carseat…how big a piece it was remained a mystery.  Two sneezes fail to solve the problem.  I mumble out loud to myself that I don’t even have a pair of tweezers with me.  Abbey looks up at me with huge, worried eyes and asks “Does Mamo have tweezers?”  Mamo is her grandmother, the driver, and no, she foolishly left her tweezers home that night.  When we finally got to the next exit and pulled into a shopping center parking lot there was a Rite Aid there that looked open…whew!  I went to buy a pair of tweezers and when I walked up the automatic doors wouldn’t open…I looked at my watch…10:04…they close at 10 pm, GREAT!  So I rummage through my bag and the best I can come up with is a paper clip.  So, I bend it open and while my Mother holds the penlight on her keychain at just the right angle I perform my surgery…all it takes is one touch to the back of the inside of her nose and a giant sneeze before a sizable chunk of foam finds its way to freedom.

Question of the Day…

What’s your best “You know you’re a Mom when…” story?
